01Who we are
Unter B.V. ("Unter", "we") is responsible for the processing described here. This statement covers this website and the emails you send us. You can reach us at team@unter.tech.
02What we collect and why
When you contact us on unter.tech/book, we ask for five things: your name, your work email address, your company, your role and how your company offers crypto today. With your request we also receive the time you sent it and the tag of the link that brought you to the page, if it had one (for example ?source=li-yourcompany in a link we sent you). We use this only to reply to you and to arrange and prepare a call.
This form sends your request by email, through Brevo, to the mailboxes of Tim and Nick at Unter. The website itself does not store it.
When you ask to try Unter yourself on unter.tech/try, we ask for six things: your name, your email address, your company, your role, what describes you best and how your company offers crypto today. With your request we also receive the time you sent it and the tag of the link that brought you to the page, if it had one. We then email you a link to confirm your address. The link works once, for 24 hours.
Until you confirm, we hold your request for at most 24 hours. If you don't confirm, we delete it. When you confirm, your answers go by email, through Brevo, to Tim and Nick at Unter. We use them to follow up with you. In our own database we then keep only your email address and the date your access ends. After 30 days we delete that too.
When you email us, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message, and use it only to answer you.
How we measure visits to this website is described in Analytics and cookies.
03Page log and server logs
The server that hosts this website keeps no access logs with your IP address. It keeps an anonymous page log instead: the time, the page address with its link tag, the type of browser and the address of the page you came from. For the contact page and unter.tech/try it also notes whether a request was sent. It contains no IP address and nothing else that identifies you. We use it to count visits per page and per link, including visits from search engines and AI assistants, and how many requests come from each link.
To stop abuse of the forms, the server briefly holds IP addresses in memory to limit how often it can be sent. They are not written to disk.
When something goes wrong, the server writes a technical error log, which can contain the IP address of the visit involved. We use it only to fix the problem.
04Analytics and cookies
We use PostHog to see how people use this website, so we can improve it. PostHog stores the data in the EU (Frankfurt). On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose, we count your visit as if you had declined: without cookies, as described below.
If you click Accept, PostHog sets a cookie and stores an identifier in your browser, so it can link the pages you view on this visit and later ones. It records the pages you view, the page or link that brought you here, what you click, your browser, device and screen size, and the country you visit from. It also records your visit as a replay of the screen, so we can see where the website is unclear. Everything you type into the form is hidden in these replays. The basis is your consent.
If you click Decline, or have not chosen yet, no cookie is set. After Decline, your browser only remembers your choice, so the banner does not return. PostHog then records only the pages you view, the page or link that brought you here, and your browser, device, language and time zone, without cookies and without replays. It does not record the country you visit from. To count visits, it calculates a code on its own servers from your IP address and browser. The code changes every day, so it cannot recognise you later. The basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how many people visit the website.
PostHog does not store your IP address. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not link it to your name or email address.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
unter.tech/try uses one functional cookie. It only remembers that you have access, in the browser where you confirmed, for 30 days. It does not track you and is not used for analytics. Because the page needs it to work, we do not ask for it in the cookie banner. If you delete it, you can request access again.
The brand name, colours and logo you set on unter.tech/try are saved only in your browser. We never receive them. Screen replays never include unter.tech/try.
05Third parties
To show this website, your browser loads the PostHog script. On the Try it yourself page, it also loads fonts from Google Fonts. These services receive your IP address and technical browser data when the page loads.
Contact requests, access links and your answers are sent by email through Brevo, an email service based in France, which processes the messages to deliver them. Our mailboxes are hosted by Google Workspace.
Analytics data is processed for us by PostHog, which stores it in the EU (Frankfurt). See Analytics and cookies.
We do not share your personal data with anyone else, and we do not sell it.
06How long we keep it
Requests, answers and emails stay in Tim's and Nick's mailboxes for as long as we need them to follow up with you and handle any business relationship that follows, and no longer than the law requires or allows.
Access to unter.tech/try: a request you do not confirm is deleted after 24 hours. Your email address and access date are deleted after 30 days. Answers you confirmed stay in Tim's and Nick's mailboxes, as above.
The anonymous page log and the error log are deleted automatically after about two months.
PostHog keeps analytics data for one year and replays for 30 days, then deletes them.
07Your rights
You can ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct or delete it;
- restrict or object to its processing;
- receive it in a portable format.
Email team@unter.tech. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
